Special tips for getting stronger web 2.0 backlinks
In the previous articles we already covered web 2.0 properties and their use in link building and web 2.0 layering technique quite a bit. In this article I want to give you some additional tips for maximizing strength of your web 2.0 backlinks.
If you don’t have any web 2.0 sites yet – don’t apply these tips immediately. Posting all your articles and applying all these tips in a single day won’t do you that much good. Instead, do a single addition or update once in 2-3 days.
- Add few pages.
Pretty much every web 2.0 service allows you to create additional pages effortlessly. Only exception that comes to mind is Academia.edu. But it’s a very powerful blog, nonetheless.
So don’t just post on the homepage – use pages to divide your content in small groups. For example, home page might be about general SEO strategies, additional page might include Youtube video optimization and ranking and yet another page might be about WordPress on-page optimization. So you still are within one niche, and your content is perfectly grouped together. So in essence, pages can act like “categories” in WordPress,
Make sure you write good titles for your pages, as well as description (if there is such option).
You can also create “About” page and “Contact” page. It’s a nice little move to look even more authoritative for Google.
- Add relevant categories.
It’s not always possible, but sites that use WordPress.com platform (including WordPress.com :D) do have that option. As well as some other websites like Webs.com.
Categories group or associate your articles with a particular keyword and thus give you more relevance and increase the power of your web 2.0 backlinks.
Always fill a description for your category, if possible. As a “title” use your keyword and its variations.
You can create a new category for each post, if your articles are quite different. Example – if you promote skin care products, create a category for each new product you promote. Use the name of the product as category title.
- Use videos.
It’s an excellent way to boost your video rankings and get brownie points for relevancy and authority of your web 2.0 site. Just embed your videos anywhere on the site.
I like to use a separate page for this, dedicated only to videos. But you can use videos inside your articles as well – it works fine.
Of course it’s better to use your own video, but if not possible – find relevant videos on Youtube and embed them instead.
However, with this tutorial you should be able to create little affiliate videos in 5 minutes.
- Fill in meta description, title and keywords.
Most web 2.0 properties have these basic options for homepage optimization. Use them!
It will greatly improve your search engine visibility and rankings. And this in turn will improve the strength of your web 2.0 backlinks.
Meta keywords are not really necessary nowadays – most search engines, including Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask do NOT use them anymore.
But meta description and title are vital.
- Get some backlinks!
Blasting your web 2.0 properties with hundreds of links is an option, but it’s not necessary. Plus it’s nice to keep a mixed profile of web 2.0 sites (some with high number of backlinks, some with low). But just pinging your sites is certainly not enough.
Please don’t build backlinks manually! It’s $2/hr job and it can be easily outsourced. A nice alternative to outsourcing is socialmonkee.com and IMautomator.com. I use both services for my web 2.0 sites. They get you a nice chunk of good backlinks fast.
That’s it! Most people don’t pay attention to these little details and just post their articles on web 2.0 sites and forget about them.
It still works, but why not to harness the full power of web 2.0 backlinks?
